Sundays at St Peter’s

You are very welcome at St Peter’s. Whether you have been a Christian for years, are exploring faith or simply want to come along, we would love to meet you.

From Sunday 1 November, we are trialling a new Sunday pattern for the five Sundays in November. Our main services will take place in our heated church hall while we address problems with the church heating.

The Nine O’Clock

Holy Communion · in church · 9.00–9.25am

A quiet, traditional service of Holy Communion using the Book of Common Prayer. The church will be unheated, so please wrap up warmly.

The Nine Forty-Five

Morning Prayer · in the Hall · 9.45–10.45am

A service with a more traditional character, with hymns, Bible teaching and prayer. You are welcome whether this style of worship is familiar to you or something you would like to explore.

Stay afterwards for coffee and a chance to meet others.

The Eleven Fifteen

Rock Solid · in the Hall · 11.15am–12.15pm

A more informal service with Bible teaching and worship. St Peter’s Kids provision takes place as part of this service, and we particularly encourage families with children to make The Eleven Fifteen their main Sunday service. The parent-led crèche is open in the Church Lounge throughout the service, with parents and carers remaining with their children. The crèche is not available during The Nine Forty-Five.

Coffee together

in the Hall · 10.45–11.15am

Whether you are staying after The Nine Forty-Five or arriving for The Eleven Fifteen, please join us for coffee and conversation. Refreshments are free, and everyone is welcome.

You are welcome at either hall service, and of course you may attend more than one service! Holy Communion is available at The Nine O’Clock rather than at the hall services during November.

Planning your visit

Finding the Hall

You can reach the Hall across the churchyard or directly from North Hill, through the passageway beside the Noodle Bar. If you have mobility difficulties, we encourage you to use the North Hill entrance. Our welcome team will be glad to help when you arrive.

Parking

Nearby public car parks include St Mary’s. Parking at the Vicarage is available for those with a particular need; please contact the Church Office beforehand. If arriving for The Eleven Fifteen, please avoid blocking in cars belonging to those who may need to leave after The Nine Forty-Five.

Children’s registration

Registration for St Peter’s Kids opens in the Hall at 10.45am, ready for The Eleven Fifteen (“Rock Solid”). SPK is for children in Reception to Year 6. If you are visiting for the first time, our welcome team will help you register and explain the arrangements.
