You are very welcome at St Peter’s. Whether you have been a Christian for years, are new to church, or are simply wondering what it would be like to come along, we would be glad to see you.

Our main Sunday service is at 10:30am. You do not need to know what to do, what to say, or where to sit. Come as you are.

The church is in the centre of Colchester. If you are unsure where to go when you arrive, someone from the welcome team will be glad to help.

What to Expect

Our 10:30am service normally includes Bible teaching, prayers, and a mix of traditional hymns and contemporary songs.

The service lasts around 75 minutes, and we usually have coffee and refreshments afterwards.

Children and Young People

Children and young people are very welcome at St Peter’s.

Registration for St Peter’s Kids is at 10:15am in the Church Hall. If you are visiting for the first time, someone from the welcome team can help you know where to go.

Communion

We regularly share Holy Communion as part of our Sunday worship. If you are visiting, you are welcome to come forward for communion if you usually receive communion in your own church.

If you would prefer not to receive communion, you are welcome to come forward for a prayer of blessing, or to remain seated.

Accessibility

The church is a historic building, and some aspects of access are not yet as good as we would like.

Step-free access is available from the High Street side. If you have questions about access, seating, mobility, toilets, or any practical needs, please contact the Church Office before your visit and we will do our best to help.

Exploring Faith

If you are exploring Christianity or returning to faith, we would love to help you take the next step.

We run courses such as Hope Explored, Life Explored and Christianity Explored at different points during the year.
