St Peter's, Colchester

New Here?

You are very welcome at St Peter’s. Whether you have been a Christian for years, are new to church, or are simply wondering what it would be like to come along, we would be glad to see you.

You do not need to know what to do, what to say or where to sit. Come as you are.

Visiting this November

From Sunday 1 November, our main Sunday services will take place in our heated church hall while we deal with problems affecting the church heating.

  • 9.00am — Holy Communion: a short traditional service in church, which will be unheated.
  • 9.45am — Morning Prayer: a more traditional service in the Hall.
  • 11.15am — Rock Solid: informal worship and Bible teaching in the Hall, with children’s provision.

Both hall services last approximately one hour. Coffee is served for everyone from 10.45–11.15am.

Coming with children?

We particularly encourage families with children to join Rock Solid at 11.15am. Registration for St Peter’s Kids, for children in Reception to Year 6, opens in the Hall at 10.45am. A parent-led crèche is available in the Church Lounge throughout Rock Solid. Parents and carers remain with their children. The crèche is not available during the earlier service.

Where should I go?

You can reach the Hall across the churchyard or through the passageway beside the Noodle Bar on North Hill. If you have mobility difficulties, we encourage you to use the North Hill entrance. Our welcome team will be glad to help when you arrive.
